Where are my files stored?
Only on your computer ā we don't store them.
If you choose a pre-made system, you'll download an empty Johnny.Decimal folder structure. You can put it in your Documents folder, cloud drive (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, OneDrive), or anywhere else. You then move your files into those empty folders.
If you're building your own system, you move your files into your new folder structure when it's completed.
Can I keep my own notes?
Yes. After signing up, you can download a set of text files to import into any notes app (we recommend and support Obsidian and Bear).
These files match the folder structure of our pre-made systems so you can keep notes on any item. This becomes your index/JDex ā a core Johnny.Decimal concept that we'll explain in the onboarding videos.
What happens after I sign up?
You will be able to:

You're never alone. Please ask us if you need help with a pre-made system, one you're designing yourself, or just general account support.

What exactly does Lifetime get me?
Lifetime gets you every product we've ever made ā everything you see listed above ā and everything we will ever make in the future. Nothing more to pay, ever again.
It does not include any future products that directly involve Johnny's time.
For example, we're planning a product where small classes will join weekly sessions and complete the Workshop together. You don't get access to that.
How did you calculate the cost of Lifetime?
Its cost is calculated as the total of all current products, plus the likely cost of the next product, minus the 25% multi-item discount, rounded down.
So that's currently (AUD$850 + $500) Ć 75% = $1,000. The price of Lifetime will increase as we release more products.
So do you guarantee that you'll release new products?
No. We can't predict the future. If you sign up to Lifetime, it's because you want to support us (it really helps), and because you trust us.
We are planning a bunch more systems, now that we have this framework to present them in. But we can't guarantee anything.
Is the site and content accessible (a11y)?
This is something we genuinely care about, and we try very hard. While Johnny (our developer) isn't an a11y expert, we try to do everything the simplest, most standards-compliant way. This website is pretty basic HTML that should be semantically sound.
For our video content, Lucy hand-checks and corrects every word of the subtitles. It takes her hours but it's something that she's really passionate about. (Also, the auto-translation has a habit of calling me 'Johnny dismal'...)

Not one piece. Everything at Johnny.Decimal is human made, the old-fashioned way.
We have spent thousands of hours over the last 2 years creating the pre-made systems, the course material in Johnny.Decimal University, and the JDHQ platform, which was built from scratch.
This means we know our systems intimately. We can answer any questions you have. And we'll continue to improve them based on community feedback.
We're both writers. The idea of a presenting AI-generated words as our own is anathema to us.
How does currency conversion work?
We're Australians. So the base price of our store is AUD and that's the price that we set. Otherwise our wages would fluctuate with global currency movements and that'd be weird.
You're probably not Australian. So to make it convenient for the rest of the world, we present fixed conversions in EUR, GBP, and USD. We keep an eye on exchange rates and update these prices as they fluctuate. So that's why they might change.
If you want to pay in any other currency, select AUD and Stripe will show you a conversion at the payment screen. I don't control these rates.
Note that Stripe presents different payment options depending on your currency. For example, Europeans have a whole list of stuff I've never heard of.
And sales tax?
We're registered for GST in Australia. Our ABN/GST number is 53 145 180 721. Purchases in Australia include 10% GST. No taxes apply in any other region.
